RE: MAGPAS – NATIONAL TRANSITUS CELEBRATION (3 October 2026)

Dear Reverend Monsignori and Fathers,

Greetings of peace in the Lord!

The Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, proclaimed a special Jubilee Year on the occasion of the Eighth Centenary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. During this Year of Saint Francis, “we are called to become saints in the contemporary world, following the example of the Seraphic Patriarch” (Decree of the Apostolic Penitentiary on the Eighth Centenary of the Death of Saint Francis of Assisi).

In celebration of this year of grace, the Inter-Franciscan Ministers Conference of the Philippines organized the National Transitus Celebration in the Philippines on 3 October 2026, at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion, España, Manila. With joy and enthusiasm, we dedicate our MAGPAS for October to join the Franciscan family in the Philippines in this extraordinary celebration. Through our participation in this gathering, we hope for the continuous transformation of our communities – becoming models of holiness of life and constant witnesses of peace, following the life of Saint Francis.

I warmly invite you to take part and kindly send your lay and youth leaders to this gathering.
